Code of Conduct

The Administration, Playground Supervisors, and entire staff of the Recreation Department strive to provide our children with a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable recreation experience, both on and off the playing field.

Without exception, parents are responsible for their behavior as well as the behavior of their family and/or friends attending team events. All fans deserve the opportunity to enjoy the recreation experience free from distraction. Any intimidating actions directed at players, coaches, officials, or competitors will not be tolerated and are grounds for removal from event site. Once an offender is ejected, he/she must leave the Parish facility grounds immediately and sanctions will be imposed.

Sanctions of individuals include but may not be limited to a mandatory meeting with JPRD Administration, suspension of remaining tournament games and/or future contests are possible. Outside actions and sanctions from law enforcement authorities may be required as well.

  • Cheer for your team, not against the opponents. Be a positive role model through your actions.
  • Stay away from the playing area and team bench areas
  • Respect participants, officials, opponents and all others associated with events
  • Refrain from making personal comments about players, coaches, officials, and playground staff
  • Accept all decisions of officials, coaches, and playground staff
  • Profanity, Vulgarity, or Racist comments are not permitted
  • Alcohol will not be tolerated at any game or tournament site

We have made an intentional commitment to promote good sportsmanship and developing and maintaining a safe and healthy atmosphere for competition. Good Sportsmanship is one of the life’s lessons that our children can learn from sports. This can only be accomplished with the full cooperation of our players, coaches, and spectators involved in our sponsored athletic events.

Attending a JPRD event is a privilege, which is accompanied by the responsibility to act with civility, integrity, and respect. Therefore, we are asking for your support in displaying exceptional sportsmanship throughout the entirety of the Intramural and/or All-Star season.

  • Play fair and by the rules of the game
  • Take a loss or defeat without complaint
  • If you win, don’t rub it in…be gracious. Don’t gloat when winning.
  • Treat opponents and officials with respect, courtesy, generosity, and fairness
