Our Leisure Service division produced the first-ever Spanish JPRD program guide for the Spring 2022 catalog. The push for a guide in both English and Spanish came after a call from the Jefferson Parish Employee Diversity and Inclusion Board, asking more departments to accommodate non-English speakers. Parks and Recreation stepped up to the plate and began putting together the program guide with the help of Danella Bello. The guide is the first step of many to produce significant materials in another language besides English. The department knows that Spanish is not the only language to translate materials but a starting point for making dual materials routine. Anyone can access the English and Spanish guides on the JPRD website and around playgrounds and businesses in Jefferson Parish.
