Johnny Jacobs is considered the “Mecca of the Westbank” because of the wide variety of programs and amenities it offers for children, teens, and adults alike. The playground is widely recognized for its world-class track facility and proud tradition of tackle football. Johnny Jacobs is also the only park and recreation facility in the area with a swimming pool that offers YMCA-led swim lessons.
Beyond athletics, Jacobs has a welcoming, community-centered atmosphere that makes it a popular destination for gatherings of all kinds. From baby and wedding showers to picnics, birthday parties, and graduation celebrations, the facility continues to serve as a hub for the community year-round

- $4 per guest
- An online pool pass is required for all guests. No cash, tokens, or on-site payments will be accepted. Pool passes can be purchased at jprd.org.

Teen & Adult Swim Lessons
Each swim session consists of four 60 minute lessons. Lessons are on Sunday mornings. Check our catalog for swim program dates and times.
Swim Team
Our JPRD Swim Team is a new program offering opportunities for competition and skill development to swimmers ages 6 – 17 years old.
Practices will be held at Johnny Jacobs Pool for the Westbank Swim team.

Room Rentals
All facilities are a three-hour minimum with a one-hour free set-up included. Alcohol requires a police detail at $40 an hour with a 4-hour minimum. All bookings hosted after 7 pm require a police detail. Contact Bridgette Windsor for reservations at (504) 349-5000 or [email protected].
Shelter Rentals
All facilities are a three hour minimum with a one hour free set-up included. Alcohol requires a police detail at $40 an hour with a 4 hour minimum. All bookings hosted after 7pm require a police detail. Renters must be in the shelter by 11:00 a.m.. Park users must rent a shelter if the use of a spacewalk or party equipment is used.
