Johnny Jacobs Pool is a 3.5-4 ft deep pool for children and adults to enjoy with YMCA-certified lifeguards on duty. Take a swim lesson, join the swim team, or come for a day of public swimming at the pool!

Lafreniere Park Spray Park is a Eastbank splash pad for children ages 10 and under. The park features 12 water features for the ultimate day of fun.

Parc des Familles Spray Park is a Westbank splash pad for children ages 10 and under. The park offers water bliss during the hot summer days with 20 different water features to enjoy.

Johnny Jacobs Splash Pad is a Westbank splash pad for children ages 10 and under. The park offers water bliss during the hot summer days with 19 different water features to enjoy.

Lafreniere Spray Park

3000 Downs Blvd, Metairie

The Lafreniere Spray Park is 4,000 square feet of fun for children 10 & under. It has 12 water features including water cannons.

Hours of Operation

The park is open Thursday through Sunday, from Memorial Day to Labor Day, 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Parc des Famillies Spray Park

6101 Leo Kerner Lafitte Pkwy, Marrero

The Parc des Familles Spray Park has 20 water features that include a water ring, fill n spill and water flower.

Hours of Operation

The park is open seasonally for children ages 10 and under on the following schedule:

7 days a week, from Memorial Day to Labor Day, 11:00 am – 6:00 pm

Swim Lessons

Swim lessons are available during the summer months at Johnny Jacobs Pool. Group lessons are available.

Registration for swim lessons opens April 1 at 8:00 a.m. Register for swim lessons here.

Program Options

Strong Swimmers Class (ages 6 months- 35 months)
Strong Swimmers Class (ages 3-5)
Strong Swimmers Class (ages 6-12)
Teen Swim Lessons (ages 13-17)
Adult Swim lessons (ages 18+)
Parent & Child Water Safety Class (ages 6 – 35 months)

Classes are limited to a maximum of 5 adults per age group per time.

Rate

$4 – Strong Swimmers Session Participants
$5 – Teens and Adults

Strong Swimmers

Each swim session consists of six 45 minute lessons. Check out our catalog for swim program times and dates. Classes are limited to 5-10 students per age group.

Teen & Adult Swim Lessons

Each swim session consists of four 60 minute lessons. Lessons are on Sunday mornings. Check our catalog for swim program dates and times.

Swim Team

Our JPRD Swim Team is a new program offering opportunities for competition and skill development to swimmers ages 6-17 years old.

Practices will be held at the YMCA in Metairie for the Eastbank swim team and at Johnny Jacobs Pool for the Westbank Swim team.
