Jefferson Parish Parks and Recreation Department, along with Councilman Byron Lee, hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday, April 30, to celebrate the new community amenity at Westminster Park located at 7426 Rue Louis Philippe St., in Marrero. The project turned excess space into an outdoor fitness station designed to use body weight as resistance in replacing traditional weights. The machines are lined with QR codes to showcase how each device is used to maximize workouts and ensure correct usage of the equipment and muscles.
